Having an ecommerce is a great alternative to owning an actual, physical store and apart from the perk of working from home, which is definitely very appealing, when you have an online store you also have the ability to sell a wider variety of items you wouldn’t normally be able to sell in a physical store, for example something like digital downloads. However, in order to have a successful ecommerce you need to make sure that your website is on point and that’s where platforms come in. Choosing the right one can definitely be a challenge and sometimes seeing the pros and cons in front of you helps, so today we are going to give you just that for Yahoo store.
Pro: Integration ability
No matter what platform you end up going for, you will always need it to integrate well with other things, such as payment gateways, because these are the things that make an ecommerce website a complete store. When it comes to Yahoo store, the great thing about it is that you most likely won’t find a payment, inventory or shipping solution that you can’t connect it with. Something that most other platforms won’t offer you though, is cash on delivery which is another great perk about Yahoo Store.
Con: Not all features are available in every plan
This is something that can definitely be a problem, but what we’d say about this particular con is that most of the platforms share it. Yahoo Store does offer you lots of features for your ecommerce like upsell, gift certificates, cross sell and many more and although those are incredible features to have, they are only available in the most expensive plans, which means that you will most likely have to break the bank to get them.
Pro: It allows you a large number of products
Something that a lot of people don’t know is that sometimes platforms limit the number of items that they will allow you to sell on your ecommerce. And while this doesn’t seem fair, the main thing is that you can always find something to accommodate your needs, and if you know that you have a large number of products that you want to list on your site, then Yahoo Store is a great option since they allow you to list a whopping 50.000 products even in their starter plan.
Even though this is one of the most traditional platforms out there, the fact that it has been running since 1995 means that the developers have seen it all which has given them the ability to satisfy all sorts of needs for their customers as well as for other developers. Now it is up to you to see if the pros outweigh the cons and see if this platform has what it takes to help you take your ecommerce to the next level.
